Procession and Tar Barrels Car Parking

No special car parking is provided during the procession night other than the two in the town. Access to two car parks is restricted during the procession and firework display.

On November the 5th if you arrive by car you will be directed into one of two main car parks depending from which direction you approach the town. These car parks are compulsory and are active from 5pm when the roads into the town are closed. The cost per car is £10 and we make no apologies for the price as the money is shared between the organisation running the car park and the carnival.

The car parks assist traffic management during the evening of the 5th November and there are clearways with no stopping on roads leading to the town. This ensures the narrow lanes around Ottery stay clear for emergency vehicles to service the surrounding area.

Weather in Ottery

Ottery also has it's own weather station courtesy of Damian, so for live weather conditions visit Ottery Weather Station and see the Weather Live Display (Flash required) or Weather Display Console (non Flash Version) or you could visit the Met Office website who are based just down the road in Exeter.

 

Tourist Information Centre in Ottery

Ottery has a Tourist Information Centre near the centre of the Town which provides a valuable service prior to and during the two event days of Carnival. During the nights of the procession and Barrels the TIC is manned by volunteers who sell Carnival memorabilia and programmes.
